Job Purpose

Construct and repair structures made from materials like bricks, stones, and concrete blocks.

Job Responsibilities

• Constructing Structures: Assisting the mason in placing stones, creating walls, walkways, and various other materials to construct structures.
• Interpreting and Reading Blueprints: Using an understanding of project specifications and blueprints to ascertain the required materials and methods.
• Material Preparation: This involves mixing mortar, cutting bricks, stones, or blocks to the necessary dimensions, and getting the worksite ready.
• Laying and Aligning Materials: Ensuring bricks, stones, and blocks are correctly aligned and leveled, cutting bricks that are needed for corners, arches, and complex patterns.
• Repair and Maintenance: Restoring damaged masonry structures and conducting regular upkeep.
• Final Touches: Once the building work is done, masons tidy up and polish the completed structures to make them look better.
